Several technologies being developed in ATTRACT projects may help fight Covid-19. ATTRACT researchers are exploring their technologies to see how they can be used for early diagnosis and treatment of Covid-19.

Bio Nano Consulting’s latest Covid-19 response: coronatravel.world (UK) and www.coronatravel.world/ch (Switzerland)

Bio Nano Consulting, an ATTRACT project awardee for the VL4BD and DetectION projects, has launched a new travel assistance website (coronatravel.world) that provides continually updated information on restrictions such as multi-day quarantines and test requirements imposed on travel between countries, together with the latest pandemic predictions so that travellers can make informed decisions.

This new offering adds to the portfolio of platforms already developed by Bio Nano’s digital team to address the Covid-19 pandemic, including the covidsim.org platform, an interactive, user-friendly software platform enabling government ministers, public health officials, scientists, and interested individuals to deploy sophisticated epidemiological prediction tools. The web-based tool has been used to inform economic and political decisions concerning intervention/restriction strategies and related resource allocation in over 135 mainly low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).

Thinking of travelling and not sure of current restrictions?

For travel to/from UK: www.coronatravel.world/

The Swiss version is here: www.coronatravel.world/ch

About ATTRACT

Big research organisations and experts in business management have been working together in the EU-funded ATTRACT initiative to co-create a European deep tech ecosystem for detection and imaging technologies. This is a new European model of open innovation that can become an engine for jobs and prosperity. For two years, 170 projects were each awarded €100,000 of funding and mentorship by ATTRACT to develop disruptive ideas and turn them into viable commercial applications. Interdisciplinary teams of students from across Europe (led by Aalto and Esade Business School) applied design-thinking methodologies to turn some of ATTRACT’s breakthrough projects into valuable products and services.

Participants in the ATTRACT conference explored how these technologies could revolutionise global markets and society in diverse disciplines (such as healthcare, biotech, robotics, and self-driving cars) in the upcoming decade. Funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme, ATTRACT aims to help revamp Europe’s economy and improve people’s lives by creating products, services, companies, and jobs. The ATTRACT project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 777222.
